2012 Christmas S'mores Snowmen

I hate saying that I got this idea on pinterest, because by saying so, it somehow discounts
the creativity involved.
I am terrible at creating, but I am pretty good at copying.

I found some 55 gallon barrels on craigslist in my area for $5.
Bonus!
They were creamish white already, so I didn't have to overdo it with the white spray paint.
Then, I used black and a rustoleum rusty paint that I already had to make the toasty edges.
I used craft paint to paint the eyes and mouth.
I carved
a piece of Styrofoam and painted it orange with craft paint.
I glued it on with
construction adhesive (in a big tube by the caulk at Wmart.)

The graham cracker and chocolate are both pieces of Styrofoam.
I cut them using a serrated steak knife and painted them with craft paint.
(spray paint melts the foam)

I made the sign out of Styrofoam and painted it with craft paint.
The post is a piece of PVC pipe.
I glued it in a hole I cut out of the sign. (construction adhesive)
I painted inch increments to measure the snow.
A piece of rebar
hammered into the ground holds the PVC sign post quite nicely.

(haha, yes, our grass is still green on Dec 19!)

I shaped a piece of Styrofoam using a serrated steak knife.
I painted it with a mixture of maroon and brown.
The roasting stick is a piece of Styrofoam for the handle with a 1/4" dowel for the stick.

We borrowed the firewood from our neighbor, and put our Halloween cauldron
in the middle of it.

The arms are heavy gauge wire I painted with brown spray paint.
I measured the wire the length I needed and times it by 4.
I bent a wire and twisted it together to make the fingers, then I twisted it with another
twisted wire to make the arm.
My hubby attached them to the can with a screw and washer.
